Jacobs Title

Jane Jacobs wa one of the most celebrated urban planning intellectuals of the 20th century. Her ideas changed the way cities are built. She moved to Toronto from New York in the 1960s and spent the rest of her life here, most famously helping to lead the fight against the Spadina Expressway (saving several neighbourhoods — like the Annex and Chinatown — from demolition).
